Our grateful thanks to the non-profit charity West Derby Waste Lands for the generous grant of £2000 to this charity to cover the broadcasting costs for 2026.

It is often thought hospital radio stations across the UK are funded by the NHS or local health authorities. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. We are independent charities staffed entirely by local volunteers and often struggle with raising funds due to the fact we are associated with health care. This has become even more of a struggle since the Covid years.

We find that local organisations like West Derby Waste Lands are often those that support local charities like LHBS. And so a HUGE thank-you to the Trustees for their consideration of our application and local Liverpool city councillor Steve Radford for supporting us.
