Christmas/New Year Schedules 2025

It’s one of the busiest times of the year and although our volunteers take time away to spend with family and friends we strive to keep you entertained with a range of programmes throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Expect some Christmas specials along the way with some new additions to our regular programmes.

Richard Smith is along twice a day with the A to Z of Christmas two hour specials weekdays from 8am as well as The A to Z of Christmas through the decades at his regular spot of 10pm every evening.

Our Hospital Carol Service with Rev. George from St Luke’s Chapel will be broadcast from Monday 22nd December at 5pm (and repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday), thought provoking Christmas Miscellany is an hour of songs, stories and poems and local lad Brian Conlon will be along on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day with his three hour afternoon show.

Mike Quinn will be along this Christmas day at 3pm with his regular trawl through Christmas Day birthdays and a return of some of the old features for his Christmas day special.

Don’t miss Carl Richards Christmas Top 20 countdown on Christmas Eve at 3pm and again on Boxing Day.

No Rock Solid Radio Show on Christmas Day but Fred will be along as usual at his Thursday spot “Stepping into Christmas”!

Tom Nevitt will have his “Dinner and a Movie Christmas Special” on Saturday 27th December as we continue to argue if Die Hard is a Christmas movie…or not.

And Radio Broadgreen Sport will keep you covered with full commentary of Liverpool v Wolves on Saturday 27th as well as Liverpool v Leeds Utd on New Years Day.

And talking of New Year…Derek Harold will be spinning the decks again this New years eve with a return of his Rinky Dink Disco and Richard Smith will be bringing in 2026 with Big Ben from 11pm on New Years eve. So click here for our schedule.

We are aware that the Christmas holiday season may not be a great time of joy for some people particularly those in hospital which is why some of our programmes such as Night Lite have no Christmas theme to them. We know Christmas can be a hard time for some, so we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of some of the amazing support available locally. Click here for support available in the Liverpool area

From this small band of merry volunteers at Radio Broadgreen, merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year.
